Happy-Go-Lucky
13Jan09
I watched acclaimed director Mike Leigh’s lighthearted comedy Happy-Go-Lucky last weekend. I do not know how to talk about it now except that it is extremely entertaining. Anyhow, I posted a trailer up there. That should do the trick. Everyone reading this should just watch the film. ■

Poppy seems pretty cool. I bet this movie is about how, underneath all the outward happiness and acceptance of her life, she really needs a man to complete her, right? I find that kind of thing incredibly offensive. Where are the movies about people who are just happy being themselves, who don’t need to succumb to social pressure to be fulfilled?
Good point, Oberon. That should be one flaw in the film. Honestly, I like the character of the irate driving instructor better.
